Pro Sports Group are able to offer soil tests done to the correct method to allow the use of MLSN guidelines. These are the most simple, modern, and accurate guidelines for golf course managers to apply to their fertiliser requirements.
Many current soil testing guidelines massively over-estimate the requirements of fertilisers as they are based on agricultural testing which is designed to maximise yield and growth of seeds/produce for harvest eg. Wheat and barley.
In sports turf we are not looking for yield, and we are especially not looking for enhanced seed growth. MLSN guidelines are based on the requirements of sports turf, rather than the requirements of agricultural crops.
By using the correct method of soil testing (Mehlich-3), we can offer a much more realistic guide to nutrients your turf requires.

How often should I get soil testing done?
Annual testing in early spring gives you the data to plan nutrition programmes properly. Soil testing should be done to find potential deficiencies, not sell products. Interpretation of soil results is the most crucial part. Many agronomy companies in the UK still wildly over-estimate nutritional needs, despite years of scientific research showing turf-grass has significantly lower nutrient demand than crops grown in agriculture. Do you only sell products or provide actual agronomy advice?
Both. You can buy products directly, but we also offer comprehensive agronomy support, soil testing, disease diagnostics, bespoke fertiliser programs, seasonal management plans. Many clients start purchasing products then realise having an agronomist who actually knows their surface delivers better value than going it alone. Ongoing contracts include regular site visits, proactive recommendations, and priority response when problems emerge.
